Criminal Injury Claims in Preston, Manchester, Cambridge & London

Simon A Holt - Personal Injury Solicitors

Unfortunately, many of our clients have been victims of violent criminal assaults, often sustaining serious and life-threatening injuries as a result. In these instances applications are made to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) who consider claims and if a Claimant is eligible, will make an award. For a claim to be handled via the CICA there are a number of eligibility requirements.

The CICA does not fund Solicitor’s fees, but CA Solicitors will provide you with the best advice on how to proceed. We will act on a contingency fee basis and deduct an agreed fee from the award you receive. In our experience it is certainly worth instructing a solicitor to represent you in a claim to the CICA especially when the injuries are severe, to ensure you recover the maximum award to which you are entitled. Without experienced legal representation, a claimant may easily miss out on recovering what they are entitled to.

You may also be able to make a claim via the CICA if you have lost a child, parent, spouse or partner due to fatal criminal injury.

As mentioned, there are a number of requirements for your claim to be accepted by the CICA and the location of the incident is one. The injury must have occurred in England, Wales or Scotland.
