A 20-year-old rugby player has been killed in a fatal road traffic accident following a collision with another vehicle.
Harlequins rugby union player Seb Adeniran-Olule had represented England at under-20 level and was beginning to make inroads into the senior Harlequins squad this season having made three appearances for the club.
In a statement released by the club, Harlequins stated that they were “deeply saddened” by the news, with director of rugby Conor O’Shea added: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Seb's family and friends at this difficult time.
"Seb was an incredible talent and had already represented England at under-age level, as well as making his senior debut for Quins at just 20.
"He will be sorely missed by the whole squad, as well as by the wider club."
While details of the accident are still to be revealed, sadly, fatal road traffic accidents remain exceptionally common in the UK, with some arguing that the trend is set to continue following a report which showed that roads in Britain are becoming increasingly more busy with a 1.8% increase in the number of drivers on the UK’s roads overall.
